We are seeking a Business Development Manager based in London to be part of our growing team.
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving growth within the Kane Construct division. This role focuses on securing new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and strengthening Kane Construct’s presence across multiple sectors such as commercial and leisure fit out.
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification
- Gather and interpret market intelligence to identify new construction/ interior fitout opportunities, emerging sectors, and client requirements.
- Monitor tender portals, frameworks, and pipeline developments across public and private sector projects.
- Analyse competitor activity and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
Client Relationship Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Represent Kane at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
- Ensure Kane is positioned as a preferred contractor for upcoming projects.
Pipeline Management & Reporting
- Manage the sales pipeline and track opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.
- Provide timely and accurate updates and reports to internal stakeholders.
Bid & Proposal Management
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, PQQs, tenders, and presentations, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
- Work closely with estimating, commercial, and operations teams to develop competitive submissions.
- Support the development of case studies, capability statements, and bid collateral.
Strategic Growth Planning
- Develop business development strategies aligned with Kane’s growth objectives.
- Identify potential new markets e.g. decarbonisation, sustainability-driven methods of construction.
- Produce monthly reports on Business Development activity, forecasts, and pipeline performance.
Relationship Handover & Project Support
- Provide seamless handover of new projects to delivery teams.
- Maintain involvement through early stages to ensure client expectations are met.
- Degree-level qualification in Business, Engineering or Construction Management

Essential
- Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or Client‑facing roles within the construction industry.
- An understanding of construction processes, commercial principles, and procurement routes.
- Demonstrable awareness of market and sector trends with a proven ability to identify, qualify and progress new business opportunities.
Desirable
- Experience of working with key stakeholders such as Project management companies, developers, or public sector clients.
- Existing network of industry contacts and established client relationships.
- Experience preparing proposals, tenders, and client presentations.

- IT literate with the ability to use CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Full valid driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK (majority of time anticipated in London area)
