Kane Wellbeing Agenda

Enhancing Wellbeing within Kane is a fundamental step towards looking after our people and improving organisational performance.

The Wellbeing Agenda is led by the Wellbeing Committee who oversees the Wellbeing Agenda’s 3 pillars which are at the core of everything we do:

To be the best employer we can be to improve the Health & Wellbeing of our employees.

Aims

  • To maintain and promote a culture of Wellbeing for our employees.
  • To create an environment and culture based on shared values.
  • To improve the Health & Wellbeing of our employees.
  • To openly discuss and tackle all wellbeing pillar topics.
  • To encourage and support employees to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • To improve employee engagement and teamwork across the company.

Objectives

  • Take a proactive approach to our Wellbeing Strategy.
  • Have an effective leadership, management, and Ambassadors team across Kane to embed and maintain wellbeing as part of everyday activities
  • Improve communication regarding wellbeing throughout the company to increase awareness for all employees.
  • Build personal resilience in individuals through practical strategies, training, and support in managing stress.
  • Focus on employee engagement.

    Wellbeing Week

    Our Wellbeing Committee were delighted to celebrate World Wellbeing Week 2023 where we had a week full of events which were focused on the 3 main pillars of our dedicated Wellbeing Agenda: Mental Health, Physical Health and Social Interactions. Events over the week included: Healthy Nosh for Less Dosh webinar with Jane McClenaghan from Vital Nutrition, a Mid-Morning Stretch -Desk Yoga session with Catherine Downey, 5k walk/jog/run, Tackle your Feelings talk with Grainne Finnegan from Rugby Players Ireland and we finished off the week with a Healthy Breakfast Morning in aid of Cancer Research UK (CRUK) with Business Beats Cancer Belfast. Thank you to our Wellbeing Committee for organising a fantastic week of events!

    Meditation Month

    Our Wellbeing Committee welcomed Judith Greene Mindfulness to our in-house Wellbeing Hub to host a ‘Mindfulness Meditation Workshop’ with our employees as part of our dedicated Wellbeing Agenda’s theme for May 2023 - Meditation. Thank you Judith for a lovely introductory session to Meditation!

    Wear it Green Day

    Team Kane put on their best green clothing in support of Wear it Green Day as part of Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2023 - raising awareness and vital funds for the Mental Health Foundation!
