We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager based in Birmingham to be part of our growing team.
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
General
- Full ownership of M&E services, ensuring collaboration with Kane support teams (Pre-Construction, Design, Commercial, Planning, SHEQ, Procurement, etc.).
- Plan, manage, and coordinate M&E installations and testing from conception to completion.
- Understand project scope, systems, and costs in detail.
- Liaise daily with Principal Contractor to agree on work sequences.
- Direct site management staff and Electrical subcontractors.
- Manage RFIs, resolve issues proactively, and mitigate risks.
- Oversee H&S compliance, QA/QC checks, and adherence to building regulations.
- Ensure contractual conditions are met and produce monthly project reports.
- Manage a single project of approximate values of £5M to £10M (NEC).
Financial/Commercial
- Work with Commercial and Finance teams to achieve cash flow and profit targets.
- Understand all contract T&Cs, specifications, and budgets.
- Control material and subcontract procurement; manage subcontract packages.
- Monitor labour productivity and assist with valuations, forecasts, variations, delays, and final accounts.
- Maintain accurate records and attend relevant meetings.
Operations
- Ensure efficient site activities, labour, subcontractor coordination, and material control.
- Support planning team with installation, testing, and commissioning data.
- Monitor progress against programme and SHEQ compliance.
- Manage commissioning, handover, and defect resolution.
- Chair and record regular site meetings; ensure O&M manuals are delivered.
People
- Ensure teams are qualified and resources available.
- Lead, motivate, and maintain positive site environment.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers; monitor relationships and conditions.
Customer & Business Development
- Interpret specifications and drawings; resolve conflicts between obligations and client requests.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure quality delivery for repeat business.
Corporate
- Uphold Kane Group values, policies, and safety standards at all times.
| QUALIFICATION |
Essential
- HNC or Equivalent qualification in Electrical / Building Services Engineering / HVAC
- SMSTS or equivalent
- Valid CSCS Card (black)
Desirable
- Completion of a recognized technical training scheme.
| EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE |
Essential
- 5+ years’ working experience in construction management and have appropriate building services industry experience.
- Knowledge of M&E systems, specialist systems, Life Safety Systems, building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Familiarity with construction management software packages.
- Have management experience in multi-discipline contracts and be capable of managing data flow processes
- Will have attended relevant H&S courses.
- Knowledge of construction (NEC) contracts and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of managing and administrating NEC projects
Desirable
- An engineering qualification
- Experience of managing large infrastructure packages
