We are actively seeking a Head of Electrical Compliance based in London to be part of our growing team.
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
Strategic Oversight of Electrical Governance
- Provide senior technical leadership and strategic oversight of all electrical systems across the business.
Management of SAPs and APs
- Lead and manage a structured network of Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) and Authorised Persons (APs) across all projects
NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (QS) Oversight
- Oversee the activities of the NICEIC QS, ensuring periodic audits, certifications, and documentation are completed in line with NICEIC standards.
Electrical Compliance Leadership
- Ensure electrical systems and installations are fully compliant with BS 7671 (18th Edition). Champion the safe design, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of all electrical systems.
Technical Standards & Policy Development
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous review of company-wide electrical procedures, engineering standards, and Electrical Safe Systems of Work.
Audit & Inspection Programme Oversight
- Develop and manage a proactive technical audit programme covering site electrical works, test certifications, and compliance with authorisation protocols.
Electrical Clerk of Works Oversight
- Line manage the Electrical Clerk of Works, who will be responsible for undertaking site inspections across all projects.
Mentorship & Competence Development
- Mentor SAPs, APs, and QSs in technical standards, compliance, and leadership.
Interface with CLT, SLT and Clients
- Act as the senior technical voice within the business.
Oversight of All Projects
- Manage the electrical compliance aspects of 12+ projects simultaneously across London and other UK regions.
Change Control & Incident Response
- Provide expert input into change control processes affecting electrical infrastructure.
Documentation & Certification Governance
- Ensure all projects have robust records for testing, certification, and commissioning.
| QUALIFICATIONS |
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 2365 / 2330 or equivalent in Electrical Installation
- BS 7671 18th Edition (Wiring Regulations)
Desirable
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Authorising Engineer (AE) or similar strategic compliance role
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification (if overseeing H&S aspects)
| EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE |
Essential
- Experience managing or working closely with NICEIC Approved Contractor schemes
- Experience managing technical staff or compliance teams
- 10+ years in electrical engineering within construction, M&E, or building services
- Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations, CDM, and NICEIC requirements
- Experience managing technical personnel (e.g., APs, SAPs, QSs, Clerks of Works)
Desirable
- Knowledge of HV Systems
- Working knowledge of commissioning processes and QA frameworks
- Use of digital platforms for inspection reporting, tracking, and compliance dashboards
- Experience dealing with main contractors, clients, and compliance auditors
