We are seeking a Production Supervisor - Fabrication based in Banbridge to be part of our growing team.
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Supervising a team of general and skilled operatives, fabricators, welders and spray painters in a busy workshop environment.
- Take responsibility for driving a Health and Safety culture throughout the workshop including conducting daily team briefings, weekly toolbox talks and attending bi-weekly Health & Safety meetings.
- Delegate tasks amongst the team as per production requirements.
- Reviewing fabrication drawings in order to:
- produce cutting lists before passing to workshop floor to action.
- create a pick list for stores to ensure kit forming of materials is being carried out ahead of production and in line with the production schedule.
- Working to a weekly planner ensuring dispatch deadlines are met.
- Working closely with the QA team member assigned to the fabrication area to ensure fabricated products are in line with drawings, inspections are completed and meet required standards.
- Preparing for and leading daily production meetings.
- Escalate any issues that impact health and safety, production or quality to the Production Manager and work to resolve the same with the relevant support.
- Liaising with the Administrator in relation to daily job costing, data collection and analysis.
- Liaise with the HR Team for guidance with managing performance and development, absence management processes and recruitment.
- Assist with interviews including weld testing and onboarding of new team members.
- Carry out bi-annual employee performance and development reviews, setting individual targets and reviewing employee performance regularly throughout the year.
- Liaising with the Service and Maintenance Engineer to ensure workshop maintenance and equipment repairs for general fabrication are carried out in a timely manner causing minimum downtime / disruption to production.
- Assisting the wider Offsite team with QA audits, striving for continual improvement of processes and procedures.
- Organise and oversee NDT testing on all welding products.
- Liaising with the procurement team to replenish stock or order materials.
| QUALIFICATION |
- 5 GCSE’s (Grades A-C) Including Math and English
| EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE |
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years Workshop / fabrication experience.
- Practical experience in either MIG or TIG welding and possess sound understanding of welding processes and procedures.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a supervisor/managerial role
- CWSIP 3.0 or 3.1 qualification or demonstrate sound knowledge of NDT processes.
- Background in mechanical piping systems.
