"Transforming the east side of the 1960s Gascoigne estate into a modern, environmentally friendly community."

Kane have delivered 660 energy efficient homes in Barking & Dagenham with Willmott Dixon Construction.

Kane Group, in collaboration with main contractor Willmott Dixon Construction, have successfully regenerated the Gascoigne (East) Estate in Barking & Dagenham. This large-scale project has completely transformed the area by delivering 660 new homes, fostering a thriving and sustainable community.

The project was delivered across multiple phases and buildings, utilising sustainable energy sources & technology including rooftop photovoltaic cells, and connection to local district heating network, which contributed greatly towards the targeted 40% reduction in CO2 emissions from home energy usage.

Kane's early engagement and development of the Stage 2 design and Revit model ensured that we could deliver the project utilising our digital setting out technology, enabling the MEP services to be brought forward in the build sequence, creating time for a smooth and controlled testing & commissioning period.

The MEP works package included:

  • Prefabricated District Heating Substations
  • Prefabricated Utility Cupboards (PUC)
  • Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR)
  • Access Control
  • Door Entry System
  • Fire Alarm
  • CCTV
  • Fibre Optic IRS System
  • PV Panels
  • Sprinkler System
  • Smoke Ventilation Systems

We're incredibly proud of the level of quality that has been achieved on the Gascoigne Estate project. It is a true testament to the Kane team and our supply chain partners involved, ensuring comfortable and efficient homes for years to come.
