Banbridge based MEP contractor Kane has commenced a significant extension of its manufacturing facility as part of a strategic investment to expand its offsite manufacturing capacity and support delivery of the company’s largest multimillion pound contract to date.
Offsite manufacturing continues to gain momentum across the construction sector, offering substantial future growth potential as clients increasingly recognise its value in improving quality, speed, safety, and cost predictability. In response to this rising demand, Kane is undertaking major upgrades at its existing Banbridge factory, including the demolition of outdated spray and storage buildings and the construction of a new 20,445 sq. ft. extension.
This significant expansion, being delivered by Kane’s construction division, Kane Construct, will enhance and futureproof the company’s fabrication capabilities. The new facility will create the space required to optimise and streamline production processes, with dedicated areas for assembly lines, sandblasting, welding, spray booths, and product testing.
By increasing fabrication capacity and improving workflow efficiency, the extension will directly support higher output, improved quality control, and greater operational resilience.
In parallel with the main works, Kane has also upgraded existing fabrication staff welfare areas into a newly created, modern space. This investment underscores the company’s commitment to providing a high‑quality, safe, and comfortable working environment for its teams and allowing for continued recruitment.
Cathal McMullan, Managing Director at Kane, commented:
“This investment represents a significant milestone in our continued growth and in our commitment to advancing offsite manufacturing. The new extension will not only enhance our production capacity but also ensure we are equipped to meet the evolving needs of our clients. By modernising our facilities and streamlining our processes, we are strengthening our ability to deliver high‑quality, innovative solutions at scale. This development underscores our long‑term vision for the business and reflects the dedication of our entire team in driving Kane forward.”
