Kane have secured £22.5 million pounds of M&E project work in London on behalf of Bennett Construction. Kane will deliver the design and build M&E contracts at Millbrook Park Phase 6B, Rome House and Buckle Street.
Works at the largest of the projects for Kane, Millbrook Park Phase 6B, consists of the full MEP installation at the residential project comprising 257 apartments contained within 2 blocks. The residential units will form a mixture of Private Sale, Social Rent, and Intermediate tenure.
The 18-month contract includes the LTHW requirements which is served from a site wide district heating network, with an intake plantroom located within each Block. Each block has a Car Park located on the Lower Ground Floor where Kane will install a mechanical smoke extract system. The space heating requirements within each Private dwelling are served by Underfloor Heating, with Radiators being installed within the Social & Intermediate dwellings.
TheRome House contract, which will take approximately 16 months to complete, includes the full MEP installation for 142 residential units contained within 3 Cores. These works form part of phase one of the proposed multi-phased development where there is a mixture of Social, Shared Equity and Private Sale dwellings. Kane will use their in-house prefabrication facility to provide offsite solutions for the Energy Centre and Utility PODs installed on the project.
Buckle Street, a 104-bedroom boutique Hotel, will include the MEP installation over 11 floors of the building. The 7-month programme of works includes VRF Air Conditioning, Mechanical Ventilation, Fire Fighting Systems, Public Health Systems, General & Small Power installation, General & Emergency Lighting, Building Management Systems and Security Systems.
Early Contractor involvement between Kane and Bennett Construction permitted superior in-house design capability as well as Kane’s prefabrication competencies offering off-site construction solutions.
