We are delighted to announce that Kane has been awarded a significant contract to deliver the Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) services for Trinity by Breakthrough, a premier, purpose-built life science research & development centre in Oxford. This market-leading development will be a cornerstone of the city’s burgeoning life sciences sector.
The Trinity by Breakthrough project features 214,000 RSF designed to cater to the evolving needs of the life sciences industry. As the MEP contractor, Kane will play a pivotal role in ensuring the building’s efficient and sustainable construction and operation.
Our scope of work includes the installation of advanced HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, plumbing infrastructure, and specialised laboratory services including fume extract and medical gases. We will collaborate closely with the main contractor and repeat business client, McLaughlin & Harvey, to deliver a seamless and high-quality project.
The Trinity building will be a remarkable addition to Oxford’s life sciences landscape. It will feature approximately 60% laboratory space, providing cutting-edge facilities for research and development and 40% dedicated to write-up space, fostering collaboration and innovation. In addition to warm shell space for larger end users, Trinity will also feature Breakthrough's StudioLabs offering, which are private lab and office workspaces designed exclusively for life science users. Featuring flexible term leases, the fully-furnished suites offer a plug-and-play solution allowing users to focus on their science.
Securing the Trinity by Breakthrough project marks a significant milestone for Kane; our first Life Sciences project, and our first project in Oxford, where we can see huge opportunity for Kane. We are excited to contribute our expertise to this cutting-edge development and support the growth of innovation in the region.
